Which side is fashion on?

As a fashion entrepreneur, I receive emails from suppliers every day. They are, of course, filled with photos of new pieces and collections.
Just today, I received one with the title: “Everyone is wearing this color: the color of the season has arrived!” And what is this season’s color? “All shades of brown.”
This made me reflect. I work in fashion, but I used to work with yoga. I can’t help but look at this with a certain skepticism.
As if it weren’t enough that fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world, does it also need to contribute to increasing sadness and monotony on the planet? With all the power fashion holds — and even greater, the power of colors — why don’t we use this influence to do good? Why not bring light, energy, and joy to people?
At Soul Pipa, color is the foundation of all our curation. Elegance, yes, but paired with boldness in decision-making. Because daring to wear color today is more than just style: it’s an attitude.
And you know what I notice when I wear pieces from Soul Pipa? People notice me. They smile, compliment me, and often, the bolder ones ask: “Where did you buy that?” My happiness is immense when I reply that I am one of the few sources of this change. A small curve on the path that, perhaps, can inspire more lightness and joy in people’s lives.
Now we are in the season of Christmas fairs. Small spaces, lots of people gathered together. If you stop and observe, you’ll see how urgent the situation is: we’re all dressed in black.
Black, the color that for centuries represented mourning. Are we still mourning? How long have we been wearing this sadness without even remembering the reason?
It’s time to open the windows, let the sunlight in, and illuminate our lives. Adding color to your wardrobe might seem like a small detail, but it’s a powerful gesture. An invitation to joy, optimism, and change.
